In The Darkest Moments
Posted by Lisa Stevens on
This month (September) is Suicide Awareness Month, this past Tuesday was World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10). Suicide is not something I talk about a lot. I did mention it in one of my blogs (Behind the Smile), but did not go into detail, since the blog was not primarily about that. I do want to talk about it today (well I am writing this blog the day before it will be released…but you get the point), since it is Suicide Awareness month….I want everyone reading to understand that there are many different reasons why people have suicidal thoughts, make...

Quitting Is Not Always Failing
Posted by Lisa Stevens on
Have you ever had a hobby that was fun? You loved learning everything about it...Then one day, you say to yourself, I love this so much, I wish I could get paid to do it. Get paid to do something I enjoy doing?!?!? That sounds amazing (and I know this sounds like it might be a MLM advertisement but it is not...so keep reading...lol) Why would I NOT want to do that? So you do what is necessary to turn your hobby into money. For some that involves school, but after awhile of doing the school you begin to realize...

There are tons of sayings around that talk about not caring what others think of you, and those are great, but when others think you are great, but you think you suck...

The Cursed Blessing of Parenting
Posted by Ben Stevens on
The one thing I can say for certain is I have experience when it comes to parenting, since I have five children. Now I have to say that even though I have five kids, I have never been a fan of babies, which I know is not popular to say. The most common response when I share is "But babies are so cute, how could you not like babies". Interestingly enough, I never get that response from people who currently have a baby in their home, more often the response then is "I get it, babies are hard". That truth...
Let There Be Words

I do not feel I am overly artistic. I never excelled at art class in school, I don't draw or paint or play any instruments (I used to play the flute....way back in Junior High School....but I picked flute because it would fit in my backpack and no one even knew I played....oh silly teenager...lol). I enjoy doing crafts but don't find any of them are overly "artistic" in nature. I love to dance, but not in a graceful dancer kind of way...more like a "I like to move it, move it" kinda way...just for fun hahaha. But the one...
