Is Your Hobby Just Another Chore?
Posted by Lisa Stevens on

Anyone who knows me, knows I enjoy reading. I would say it my favourite leisure activity, my favourite past time, a hobby. I also enjoy other activities as well. One of those is building puzzles. I have not done many over the years....for several reasons, 1) with always having a little kid/kids around, it was hard to set up a puzzle and know that it was safe from little hands...hahaha and 2) some people (I won't name names here...but you know who you are) think puzzles are for the very young and for the very old. Since, technically I am...
A Lady's Touch

I used to have a blog…before this one. It was years ago. It was called A Lady's Touch (Or A Ladies Touch, I cannot even remember exactly what it was called, if anyone remembers, or has a link, I would love it! lol). It was very different from this one. The whole idea behind it was to share encouragement for wives. I was a pastor's wife at the time, I was always a little ‘risky’ as a pastor's wife. My 5th born child, 2nd born son, is a hoot. He is very loving and has a zest for life...a lot of us in the house find it annoying how excited he gets over everything. Is there anything that you do or not do, even though you "know" in your head, that is it not weird or wrong? I will give you an example....(please don't judge me! hahaha). Whenever I yawn, I always cover my mouth/nose. Why? Because once someone commented that my nostrils flare when I do it. That's it...I was probably 10-12 years old, so I have been covering up my face for yawns for 30 plus years...because 1 person commented on how my nose looked when doing it. Did I bother looking around to see if, indeed, that was a normal way...
Covid Chaos

Everyone reading this knows that we are a small business. Not as small as some, but pretty small. We have been in business for 5 years now....we started because we decided we wanted a different kind of life than a 9-5 job/career gives. We were not out to make a million dollars (but as someone recently said...a million dollars is not what it used to be...lol) we just wanted to grow as a family and get to spend time with each other, watch our kids grow and enjoy the life we have. Our goal was never to expand our business...
