It's a Pile of Rubbish
Posted by Lisa Stevens on
Composting.... Generations ago everyone composted. It was not something people even had to think of doing, they just did it. If you had organic waste, you had a compost pile. These days, it seems like the "new" thing to do. There are probably millions of people worldwide composting already, with millions looking into it. (These are my estimations, I did not get them from anyone but in my head...hahaha) There are so many different ways to work composting into your life, from under the counter worm compost bins, to outside small bucket composting to large pile composting. What will work for...
National Men Make Dinner Day

Today is national 'Men Make Dinner Day', which I didn't even know was a thing. This was apparently created to stem the tide of men who don't know their way around a kitchen. In light of all the sexual abuse and allegations of the Me Too movement, cooking a meal seems way down on the list of things men need to wise up about. Interestingly enough though I think it actually is a great place to start. The view we have regarding our fellow human beings is shaped and formed when we are young. Ever After Acres is a family business and unlike most businesses we share our personal lives and thoughts with you are customers. We know there are all sorts of opinions on the topic. There are those in favour and those opposed to legalization. From what I have read from those in favour and those opposed the striking reality is both are correct. It's the same truth with almost anything, there are pros and cons. Very rarely will we find anything purely good or bad, it is...
It's Not Easy Being Green October 2018
Posted by Ben Stevens on
One of the more noted green movements of lately is the move to remove plastic straws from restaurants. I got thinking about it and McDonalds restaurant has served over 300 billion customers since its inception. According to research it takes over 200 years for a plastic straw to decompose, so that means there is easily billions of straws around the world in our landfills. I always had a hard time grasping the difference between a million of something and a billion. Then I read that 1 million seconds is roughly 12 days, whereas, 1 billion seconds is 31.7 years. That...
