The Fading Art of Kindness: Are We Celebrating Cruelty?
Posted by Benjamin Stevens on

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of information, opinions, and constant connection. But amidst the noise, a disturbing trend seems to be emerging: a celebration of cruelty, rudeness, and outright meanness. From social media spats to political discourse, it often feels like the loudest and most abrasive voices are the ones that get heard, and sometimes, even celebrated. Are we losing sight of the values that truly make humans the evolved species on this planet? It's not hard to find examples. Reality television often thrives on conflict and humiliation. Online, anonymity emboldens people...
Oh, Canada!

Oh, Canada! Our Home and Native Land (and Where We Make All Our Stuff…Mostly) For nine glorious years, we’ve been proudly waving the maple leaf (and occasionally apologizing for things we didn't even do) as a Canadian company, nestled in the…well, let’s just say “scenic” province of New Brunswick. From our lip balms (guaranteed to protect against even the most brutal Maritime windchill) and dryer balls (because who has time for static cling when there’s hockey to watch?) to our handcrafted soaps (so gentle, they’ll practically say “sorry” for getting you clean), we’re committed to producing quality goods right here...

Love. It’s a word that evokes powerful emotions: joy, warmth, connection, belonging. It’s the driving force behind countless acts of kindness, sacrifice, and creation. Yet, despite its universal nature, we continue to place arbitrary boundaries around who is “allowed” to experience it. We police love, dictating who should love whom based on outdated social constructs and narrow-minded beliefs. It’s time we unequivocally declare: love is love. The concept is inherently simple. Love is a fundamental human experience, a complex tapestry woven from emotional and physical attraction, respect, and shared values. It’s not confined by gender, race, religion, or any other...

Sorry, I Lied!
Posted by Lisa Stevens on

I wrote a few weeks ago about how Ben and I do projects very well together. Which is 100% the truth. When we do a project together, it usually goes well. What I way lying about was the fact that because of my mental illness, when I say when someone is unwell the other person picks up the slack...I mean mostly Ben picking up the slack for me. I really hate to admit it, but I would say Ben does close to 80% of the work load around the house. He makes all the meals, he does a bulk of...

Nightmares Relived: Life with PTSD
Posted by Lisa Stevens on

I told you that I would write about the different diagnoses that my psychiatrist gave me when I went to him. I wrote about the first one, Bipolar....and a little about the second anxiety, which I am not sure if it was an actual diagnoses or just a side effect of the other diagnoses.....but either way, I did write about that a few weeks ago. This next one is a big one, not one I will share a lot about....but one that I feel still needs to be shared. I have been diagnosed with Chronic PTSD, or Chronic Post Traumatic Stress...
