More Than Just A Lip Balm
Posted by Benjamin Stevens on
We like to think all of our lip balms are special, but our Love is Love Lip Balm holds a very unique place in our hearts. It isn’t just another flavor in our collection—it’s a product with a story, a purpose, and a powerful message.
At first glance, Love is Love is simply a fun and playful lip balm. Each tube is made up of anywhere from three to six layers, and the best part? You never know what flavors you’re going to get. It’s like the lip balm version of a surprise bag—each swipe is a little mystery waiting to be revealed. Customers often tell us how much fun it is to discover the layers as they go, making it one of our most talked-about creations.
But what makes this lip balm even more meaningful is the way it’s created. When we make our lip balms, there’s always a little bit of leftover product at the end of a batch—just not quite enough to fill a whole tube. Rather than letting those perfectly good remnants go to waste, we pour them into empty tubes. Over time, those layers of “extras” stack up into something entirely new: the Love is Love Lip Balm.
To us, it’s made with intention, with respect for the ingredients we use, and with the belief that nothing good should be wasted. Every layer tells a story of sustainability and care.
And of course, there’s the message it carries. Love is love—simple, beautiful, universal. No matter how you interpret it or where it resonates in your life, the message is the same: love deserves to be seen, celebrated, and shared.
That message came to life in the most powerful way at one of our events. A young woman walked up to our table with a group of friends and family. She pointed at our display and said with a smile, “I got this lip balm for Christmas.” Then she laughed softly and added, “It actually made me cry when I opened it.”
Naturally, everyone in her group leaned in to hear why a lip balm could make her so emotional. She went on to share something deeply personal. Her father had never truly acknowledged or accepted that she is a lesbian. It had always been an unspoken thing between them—something that hung in the air but was never directly addressed.
But that Christmas morning, as she went through her stocking, she found one of our Love is Love Lip Balms tucked inside. It wasn’t just a stocking stuffer. To her, it was her dad’s way of saying, “I see you. I accept you. I love you.”
She told us she burst into tears right then and there. When her dad asked why, she explained through happy tears, “Because this is the first time you’ve ever recognized me for who I am.”
It was a small moment with a huge impact—a father extending acceptance, a daughter feeling truly seen. Hearing her story left us with goosebumps and smiles that stretched from ear to ear.
And that’s why we love, Love is Love. It may just look like a little tube of lip balm, but sometimes, it can be the spark that brings people closer together. Sometimes, it’s more than just lip balm—it’s a message, a bridge, and a reminder that love, in all its forms, is worth celebrating.
